Product Details:
-This tape dispenser is lightweight, you will need to hold it or place a hand on it when tearing off a piece of tape. This is common with the themed tape dispensers released by Scotch.... they are not weighted down like office supply tape dispensers.
-The color changing is very subtle, in fact, one of the biggest cons listed by owners is the inability to notice any color change. Warmth is supposed to cause the color change.  To test this one, I separated the 2 halves of the chameleon and I held one half for a minute while leaving the other half on my desk.  The half that remained on my desk was the normal lime green color of the chameleon.  The half that I was holding was almost an identical lime green with just a subtle yellow tint to the lime green.  The only way I observed this color change was by placing the halves side by side after my experiment.

How to refill tape dispenser:
Have the front of the chameleon facing you and  put your thumbs in his mouth and gently pull opposite directions on his mouth. The left side (when facing you) will pull away from the right half.  After the pieces begin to separate along the bottom, then go to the back of chameleon and pull the pieces more apart. After the mouth and butt of the chameleon are now separating apart, apply even pressure to back and front of head and carefully pull apart the large and tiny connectors inside the chameleon's head.  It seems like it is fragile, but after a couple practice tries, it is easy to do.
Condition:
This tape dispenser is in very good preowned condition. Minimal signs of use are present. Includes 2 brand new refills of Scotch Transparent Tape (Hint: you can buy the pricey Scotch tape dispenser refills, or you can buy a disposable dispenser of Scotch tape and just pop the roll out of that cheap clear plastic frame and put it in this dispenser. That is what I do with my current Scotch Expressions Tape Dispenser). Please enlarge & carefully review my photos as they are the best identifiers of physical condition.
