Abbey
was one of the few small but fine English pipe brands with a long family tradition that managed to survive all the breakdowns, the furious mergers and fusions and the hasty take-overs of the 1970's and early 1980's. Abbey Pipes continued to make mainly classical pipe shapes and - in smaller quantity - very nice freehands with impeccable craftsmanship. In their own words: "We are a small family business situated in the foothills of the Pennines with many years experience of pipe making and woodcraft.
