    Astounding offer here for this Repousse Metal Lidded Tea Box or Tobacco Caddy.
    This is a unique hand cast & hammered scene with the embossed forms of Monkeys (Toque Macaques) sitting in some tree branches, probably from Chang'an, Shaanxi province, China.
    The metal is untested for silver content, but we think it may be a white brass, or possibly coin silver?
    It appears to be quite old, and the lid is a bit hard to shut, unless you get it just right.
    You will seldom come across a unique item like this of such good quality and condition.
