Description
Cano Ozgener is a legend in high grade Turkish block Meerschaum and eventually started the world renowned CAO brand of Meerschaum pipes and wanted to continue to offer only the finest of pipes made by a truly exceptional carver. That carver was Ismet Bekler who unfortunately passed away some years ago but not before becoming one of the most famous Meerschaum carvers of all time. His pipes are treasured not only for their incomparable smoking characteristics but incredible designs as well whether it be a classic shape, freehand, ornate or whimsical. This one creates the best of every facet of his work and remains unsmoked. A half bent oval Billiard at heart, there is so much more going on here. It cradles perfectly in hand with extra thick walls and a lovely rim leading to a deep and generous chamber. Up front we see layers of Mediterranean looking leaves overlapping one another while to the rear and flanks we see the same profile yet in an ornate almost geometrical design exuding class and distinction. The floral aspect seems to carry up the shank with even more detail before meeting the swirled orange lucite saddle stem with inlaid "CAO" logo. This pipe from Ismet Bekler awaits it's first smoke, has it's original case, and is simply not to be missed!!Nomenclature: I. Bekler
