Exceptional and rare Michael Butera Textured classic. Made in 1986
Butera pipes are unbelievably rare and are almost never seen on the estate market. New or estate, I can count the number of times I've even seen a Butera pipe (for sale or otherwise) on one hand. Mike Butera, famous both for his pipe making and for his importation of the popular Esoterica line of tobaccos, his cigars and his own tobacco blends, stopped making pipes (except on rare occasions) in the 1990s. The pantheon of American carvers that consider Mike Butera as one of their "sun sources" within the craft are both famous and legion. This is an exceptional example of his work.
Chamber is smooth and clean.
This pipe has been cleaned inside and out. The exterior has been buffed and coated in carnauba wax. The interior was cleaned with 100% grain alcohol and is ready to smoke.
