Vintage NO. 3 Phillips LIC.1 Wood Handle Screwdriver PAT. 2507231 Made in USA

I don't know quite how old this is, but it is probably older than I am. Handle is wood, shaft and ferrule are carbon steel. I have seen some very similar ones marked "STANLEY," but I can't find any trace of that name on this one. Handle is painted olive drab green with red at the butt. Looks original, but it may also have been repainted a long time ago. There is some rust on surface in a couple of spots and at the tip, a little also on the ferrule, nothing to worry about but it will never look pristine. Has been used and looks it, but not abused. I happen to like old, U.S.A. made tools, so try to keep them in service as long as possible rather than take a trip to one of the big box stores for one made "offshore" of inferior quality and higher cost. See pictures. Ferrule stamped "MADE IN U.S.A., shaft stamped ""No. 3 / PHILLIPS - LIC.1 / PAT. 2507231 / MADE IN U.S.A. / CARBON STEEL."
