Offered is a used Craftsman "Add a Bit" interchangeable bit screwdriver, as pictured.
Believed to be circa 1940's era (patent #2287457 filed 2-07-1940, granted 1942), this made in the USA tool measures about 9" overall with a bit attached and includes 1 each, Phillips No2 and Phillips No3 bits (2 bits total).
The screw cap closure plastic handle stores bits and is marked "CRAFTSMAN" and has a letter "T" or "I" in a circle after the Craftsman name (see photos).
Well cared for, the tool is in very decent condition and works properly; clean, no rust or corrosion, no damage or personal markings and the 2 included bits show no use.
